About the Artist
As a sketch artist, photographer and painter, I’m fascinated by the exploration of motion in nature and the passage of time, but am drawn primarily to the expressive nature of our common experience — the sidelong glance, the whimsical wink, the mannered gesture, even a good old-fashioned dirty look. A pair of work boots on a doorstep, an abandoned factory or warmly lit window at night all have their stories to tell. There’s real beauty in a farmhand’s furrowed brow, a musician’s earnest performance, a mustang struggling to run free, or an older couple learning to dance. Be it landscape, character study, or candid sketch, I am forever seeking out a familiar presence. I cannot look at an empty park without wanting to add a forgotten diary to a lonely bench.
It’s the energetic spark and the evidence of humanity I chase with my art.
